This course is a basic introduction of Trusts and Real Estate for Real Estate Professionals.  In Hawai`i, real estate is often an individual’s most valuable asset.  For many individuals, trusts are a vital tool in an estate plan and is often an avenue to pass real estate from a decedent to his/her heirs.

This course examines trusts as legal instruments that can purchase, hold, manage, and sell real estate.  Real Estate Professionals are expected to identify situations where a referral to a qualified Estate Planning or other professional is indicated.  RE Professionals should be able to comprehend basic questions and have working knowledge of Trusts.  This course is not intended to teach RE Professionals how to create an estate plan, devise a particular tax strategy, or provide any type of legal advice.
